Since aspect ratios seem to be a hot topic at the moment, I wanted to raise another query
Sleepers (Brad Pitt & Jason Patric) was released on DVD on Region 2 in UK quite early on, and the aspect ratio on this disc is 1:85:1 (dual-layer disc)
However, a friend of mine has the region 1 flipper, and the aspect ratio is 2.35:1.
Any ideas on which is right as I didn't see this at the cinema. Whilst I hate having a flipper disc, I would much rather have the correct aspect ratio.
If the right ratio is 2.35:1, I actually find this practice more insulting than simply releasing an ordinary pan and scan version. At least with 1.33:1, you know what your getting.

...no opinion, but note that the movie was filmed using the Super35mm process...

I have the R2 UK release, which is dual-sided with 1.33:1 on one side and 1.77:1 on the other side.
IMDB reports that both transfers are Pan&Scan, and exactly why the DVD was made this way is beyond my comprehension...
