how about Nov 23rd Sat evening who has a free house Scott??
Wes - no, I haven't completed the other sonosub yet. I find that one provides PLENTY of bass and has never struggled at all at very loud levels. My house would be available for that evening. I don't have a lot of fancy seating because the money is all in the sound system, but should have enough room for a decent sized group. Let me know.
Scotts it is Nov 23 evening I am in with an RSVp for one as my better half will be out of town. list of participants Scott Jeff
I would be interested in meeting also. Post or e-mail me with directions. John
Ok,Nov 23rd it is. What do you all want to do? Talk HT? Watch a movie? If you want to watch a movie about 8:30 is good to start it as the kids are in bed by then. If you want to visit and talk HT, have some snacks, etc., then we can meet before then, say 7:30 or 8:00. So let me know what you all would like to do.
I'm in West Jordan. I do not want to post address or phone here, but email me at [email protected] and I will send the information. By the way, we are a shoeless house so wear your "good" socks.
If you would like to bring something, like chips & dip, pop, beer, pretzels, cookies, fruit, candy, etc., then please include that with your email. We can snack and drink those things before, but no drinks or messy food in our HT area please (candy, popcorn, chips, pretzels and the like are ok though).
Also, if there is a few DVDs that you want to see, bring them and we can decide as a group what to watch. If you or your date are offended by R-rated movies, please let me know in the email and I will handle it anonymously (R is ok for me but no movies with nudity stronger than a butt shot please).
So please send emails with the following:
What you would like to do?
What time works best for you?
How many will be coming in your party?
If you would like to bring something; what is it?
If you want to bring some DVDs; what titles would you like to see?
Movie likes/dislikes as in genre and ratings? As in: hate chick flicks but love westerns; love chick flicks but hate foreign language movies; PG13 only; R OK; etc.
Anything else you can think of.

Scott, Next time for sure! :-( We are headed out of town this weekend. Thanks a bunch, Casey
So how did the the meet go? Wish I could have stopped by. I just sat here updating my theater web site with new pics. Any one take some pictures? Wes
Wes, I believe everyone had a great time. We BS'd for about an hour then we headed downstairs to checkout Scott's HT. Scott has an awesome setup, his Mits HDTV looks great and that sub rocks big time. We did a couple of demos and then watched the superbit version of "The Fifth Element". No one took any pics as far as I know. Scott was a great host and he knows his HT. Again, this was a pretty good turn out and I had a great time. Maybe someone else will chime in. John
I enjoyed meeting everyone and playing host. Hopefully next time Wes, Casey, Richard and more can attend. I look forward to more of these events and hope that we can get some steam rolling in Utah with HT club interest. Scott
I had a good time. I am very excited for the day I can afford to build up a five foot high subwoofer. There was one point that I had the passing thought it might be too loud. But I quickly dismissed that thought and finished the movie. Scotts setup was very nice and gave me some ideas of setting up the new media room in the house(currently at the wiring stage). I forgot to bring my camera but will work on gettting the charter and logo built up for the HTF slc branch
I had a great time. Scott was a great host with a cool setup. I hope we all get together again soon.
Jeff, Some things I didn't show you about the pre-wiring that I did may come in useful to you so give me a phone call. I had HT contractors come to the house for wiring bids and I really picked their brains. So I have a lot of "invisible" wiring and thought put into future proofing the HT area. It is also pre-wired for a ceiling mount projector and additional speakers at front and sides if required for future technology changes.
are we ready for another one yet??
I'm ready for one.
Count me in.
