Skyworth DVD-1050P all-region player: Any good? (1 Viewer)

The Skyworth DVD-1050P with all-region capabilities is $400. Is this worth it? Is it an excellent player? I don't know the brand at all. What's the scoop? I did a search and someone mentioned that there had been an extensive discussion on this player on a different electronics board.

A few years ago the Skyworth was "da bomb" and highy regarded, especially for its all region capability and what at the time was considered very good progrssive scan capabilities. But unless it has been updated and modernized, I expect it to have been surpassed by a lot of other players by now.
