I've been thinking about this idea from a long time.
I am building a couch for the new room in the house.
So I was thinking, what if I install two 150 wat subwoofers
at the back of the new couch (the back is hardwood).
    What do you think?

Furniture like couches absorb sound. Unless you want single-noted and muffled bass I would avoid it. You would also lose some SPL.

If you're looking for a shaking affeect in your furniture there's an item designed specificly for it call tactile inducers or bass shakers. They're pretty inexpensive, check them out at Parts Express.
