Mike,

If I may answer that in addition to Bill.

My best offer has been $50 for 6 months (plus royalties and taxes) for ALL ACCESS. You need to negotiate again before the 6 months is up.

However, I have read more than one report on Facebook where people are getting a year of ALL ACCESS for $100 (plus royalties and taxes).

I have not been able to achieve that offer. However, I think I settled too soon on my previous negotiations with them and when my current subscription offer expires, that is what I am going to aim for: $100 a year for ALL ACCESS.

If they can't do that for me I will cancel my subscription. I don't listen to the music channels anyway. I am in it for Howard Stern
BIll: What their best offer to you before you bailed?

Now that they lost two accounts they sent me an offer for 5.00 a month. I just deleted one tonight. Don't know what that included. Will post when I receive the next one.

Renewed my unlimited for $99 and fees, $120 out the door and they waived the month or two over the last subscription I got so that my year began on my new renewal date. I'm spending much less time in the car so I was really ready to drop it if they wanted more than $120. But the -first- rep got me that price after 2 10 minute wait periods so it was the best experience I have ever had renewing.

I renewed for $100 a month ago for a year. However, that was for a vehicle plus online streaming and Howard Stern. In other words, their top plan (I forgot what it is called). If that is the deal you got, then you got the best deal I have seen at the moment.

I think they call it all access.

We too quickly tired of the repetition on the 70’s, 80’s, erc. On a fluke we stopped on “40’s Junction” and my twenty & thirty something coworkers can’t get enough...!!!

Not only is the 70s on 7 repetitive, they play mostly radio edits of hit songs (they do play all 8 minutes of Don McLean’s American Pie
though).

I don’t know why you guys are paying as much as $10 a month for that.

You can buy a monthly music service like Amazon Music and or Google play for much less then that and play whatever you want.

I have had Sirius for over 15 years now. I understand the arguments that satellite radio leaves some to be desired, but the convenience of it is why I like it- I have it in both of my personal vehicles without having to worry about the phone streaming into the car’s head unit.

I want to hear Howard Stern (who has gone from tossing baloney at the asses of strippers to becoming a world class interviewer of celebrities) and the music I listen to on there is largely stuff I wouldn't find on my own so it's worth it for me. That being said, I can completely understand how people don't feel the same.

I don't subscribe to SiriusXM for the music. They play the same songs over and over. The broadcast bitrate is poor so it sounds like crap on any system.

I subscribe to Howard Stern.

For others, there is a level of convenience here. While it is absolutely true you could do much better with any of the other music services where you can create your own playlists and enjoy superior sound quality, you ultimately have to use phone data. And while most are on some kind of unlimited plan, data does get capped at a certain point.

And yes, 70s on 7 (as well as the rest of the decade channels) all suffer from daily repetition and radio edit versions. Sirius was the worst company to take over the old XM operation. Their philosophy has always been to run the music service like AM/FM radio.

I can completely understand the attraction to Sirius radio if there is some unique programming there that a person really likes (@Ronald Epstein and @Sam Posten have mentioned some). The downside is the music channels sound like crap due to being overly compressed and most music channels play the same stuff over and over.

Personally, for our cars I just use a USB thumb drive with my own music loaded and keep it on random play. I have enough songs installed (approximately 5,000) that we can take a long road trip (our recent one was about 2,700 miles) and rarely hear the same song twice. At home, the music we get included with Amazon Prime and a free Pandora account is enough for our needs. I have not even felt the need to spend the additional $3 per month to upgrade to the full Amazon Music service.

Right I always forget about Stern

even during the time I’ve had access to Sirius like this past month when it was free to everyone, I rarely even turn stern on.

He hasn’t been interesting or relevant for me in years.
Everything I hear sounds like it could have aired at anytime over the last 20 years.

He's only the best interviewer working today. He's a loonnnng way from butt bongo fiesta. There's still some of that too, but it's the interviews I'll pay for. nobody else comes close. Maron is pretty good but Stern goes deeper.

I just got another offer for a free no cc three months.
Had my car serviced at a dealer recently and I guess they send that info out and XM found out and as a thank you sXM gave me a no cc free three months to the full service on the app.
including Howard and apparently all the sports broadcasts they offer.

I listened to a bunch of Christmas songs this year, on the Holly Channel (#105). I was disappointed that they seemed to have dropped the Trans Siberian Orchestra song Christmas Eve Sarajevo- powerful song. They should drop other songs (cough-Taylor Swift’s Last Christmas-cough).

I hate that song. Though it reminds me I didn't hear it on any of the radio stations this year, either.

Wonder if TSO got "canceled" this year for some reason? Was there a scandal?

My guess is songs get rotated in and out. Another song that shockingly didn’t get played was that Singing Chipmunks tune Christmas Don’t Be Late (there was a cover song of that- don’t remember the artist).
