On my copy of the Special Edition DVD, there's a very noticeable jump within a shot during the dance number between Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse, as if it skipped a frame or two. It happens at 1:21:57. Is there something wrong with my copy, or is this really the way the film is?

Never mind. I just looked it up on the IMDB and it says that it's really how the film is. Funny, I've seen it a few times on TV and never noticed that jump before...

That was always there...however, there are several times on the new dvd of Singin' that the color "jumps" past an actor's face and ear....very weird glitches.

Rudy Behlmer mentions the jump cut on the commentary track, too.

The dance was considered to be too hot, so a section of it was removed. It's still one of the sexiest dance numbers ever put on film.
