    As per DavisDVD.com

    Sin City: Recut & Extended

It looks like Buena Vista has delayed the December 13th release of Robert Rodriguez's Sin City: Recut & Extended Edition. The film has been removed from Buena Vista's press site and release calendar. No reason for this yet, but we'll let you know as soon as we hear anything. So until then, consider both to be postponed for now.

Yup I wonder if this wasn't to expected (i.e. Spy Kids Directors Cut). I guess we can't make accusations until they officialy state WHY!

I hope it doesn't turn into another Kill Bill SE nightmare [IMG]

I hope that since Sin City had a set release date, we won't have to wait as long as Kill Bill. Keyword: hope. [IMG]

Well, that's...annoying. Knock on wood, but I can't imagine it'll end up being anywhere near like Kill Bill, in terms of how long we have to wait. A la what TravisR said, an announcement was already made in the case of Sin City, complete with lots of detailed info about extra features, while no SEs for KB were ever even officially announced in the first place.

Well, since QT was involved in the movie you never know. Maybe there will be a new Super Duper Deluxe Limited Uncut & Uncensored 20 Disc Edition of "KILL BILL goes to SIN CITY from the hours of DUSK TILL DAWN to get a book on PULP FICTION written by JACKIE BROWN and the RESERVOIR DOGS who are looking for TRUE ROMANCE".[IMG]

I had a feeling back when this was rumored over the summer that a delay/postponement/cancellation was going to happen - ala Kill Bill. [IMG]

Glad I pulled the trigger and bought the DVD back in Aug. [IMG]

    UPDATE:

Sin City IS NOT delayed after all. Just got word from Buena Vista a few minutes ago. But Roadracers is still apparently postponed for now until word comes otherwise.

    Enjoy:

Beautiful cover. But here's hoping that bottom banner stuff and the faces are just a cardboard slip, like on the Disney Treasures.

Well that's good news. Though I'll be hanging onto my copy until this is physically out in stores - just in case.

PaulP I am pretty sure that is just a slip over band, easily removable like other disney boxsets (Aladin, Lion King).

    Never mind... say's Rosanne Rosannadana.

Funny how KB came up in this thread. People where screaming bloody murder that the SE for KB was never officially announced back in the day of the DVD release. Well now we know why. And it was not the reason many people accused them of.

Glad Sin is back on track for the fans of this movie. Me, I am still waiting for the 'complete' KB.

    Really, what was the reason?

I think "the reason" he's speaking of is the fact that the "Kill Bill" SE wasn't gonna be coming out any time soon. It's been over a year since the release of "Volume 2" on DVD and all we have are rumors.

..well that cover art leaves much to be desired. Frank Millers name and influence all over the damn movie...they could have at least let him do some kick ass cover art for this.

And there should really be a version WITHOUT the graphic novel....I know Ive already got the original version of "hard goodbye"...like many others im sure....an extra copy (AND COST) is not what i need around the holiday season..

other than that...bring it on.[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Robert --

Just one copy? [IMG] I have the orginal issues, a 1st print trade, and the digest, along with originals of the other series and trades too! Oh well, I'll give it to a friend if it's just another copy of the digest.

I agree they needed cover art by Miller, even if it's just a rain shot with a shadow or something. That or just a set of red lips that he's done in the past.
