A reader sent in this scan of the Simpsons insert ad in the R2 Futurama Collection. The scan wasn't great to begin with, so I tried to fix brightness and contrast.

Anyway, it's a first look at the Season 2 packaging (they're going for a definite "line look"...

I like the design series they're going for. I hope this continues with the various couch gags as covers.

With reversable packaging...like the first scene. you had the choice of them all happy sitting on the couch, or the reverse side of them looking like they fell twenty feet onto the couch.

Either way, may isnt coming fast enough.

Good enough. I agree with Sean May just seems farther and farther away.

That's why you should get a job Chmiel. And end up spending all your money on payday on dvds just like me. With the sale of that kidney you'll be down to what -4, -5? [IMG]
P.S. speaking of jobs if anybody knows of a place in the Seattle area that is hiring part time evenings please let me know.

Time to call the student loan into action because I've put off a job for a couple years now, I've got two years of loan left, then its sell a script and all is well, all is well, all is well, all is well *massages temples*

But yeah, the continuity of the packaging is nice.

It'd be really nice if they released each season like Paramount's TNG...

I'm not very good at waiting for stuff I want.

That's a cool box cover. May can't come quick enough. I'm looking forward to listening to the commentary tracks on these, especially Bart the Daredevil. Season 2 was a great one, but I can't wait for seasons 3-7, my own personal faves.

just get rid of the inane glued on back insert.

make it smaller if you will so it doesn't get caught on the edges.

    Fox!?

better still, just print the damn thing onto the back.

I agree, that glue on backing thing on the season one release irritates me. I think they should just print it on the back as well.

I got the Futurama set this afternoon, I could scan the insert for a better picture but I dont have anywhere to upload the image too.

What I'd like to show you though is the flipside of the same simpsons insert as it confirms R2 is getting themed Simpsons releases on DVD (alongside the season by season releases). First one is in June. Since they will have eps on from the latter seasons which are so far away in coming in a complete seasons release on DVD, I will probably give into buying those.

The 'finest moments' reel runs around 2 and a half minutes, according to the BBFC.

Ah ok. The One advertised with Futurama is another themed release titled 'Backstage Pass'. It doesn't list the eps, but the add has The Who in it so that ep will be there for sure. I believe this was mentioned a while ago and that the genius boyband ep will be on there too.

    Dan (UK)

PS: Upset Radioactive Man episode ("up and ADEM!!!!!") is not on the film festival one. They could easily give the DVD release 5 eps over the VHS' 4 as a bonus.

Cool, Dan! I can imagine that it will have all of the shows with guest appearances by concert bands.

In addtion to the one with The Who, there are these I can think of:

    * Homerpalooza (Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins, Cypress Hill & Peter Frampton)

    * New Kids on the Blech ('N Sync)

    * I'm With Cupid (Elton John)

Did Elton John actually sing in that one, though? I don't recall.

    Nicely done, David. [IMG]
You're extremely close -- drop the Elton John episode and add "The Otto Show" (Spinal Tap), or at least that's the full listing from Amazon.
