Simpsons season 17 premieres in September (1 Viewer)

For the first time since season 11, the next season of The Simpsons will debut in September. The entire Sunday night schedule (except King of the Hill, which has its season premiere a week later), debuts its new seasons on September 11. Hopefully this is a sign of an extended season, since last season only had 21 episodes.

They still have seven episodes left over from the sixteenth production season. Fox still probably won't play any more than 25 or 26 episodes though by the end of the year.

So they might have a Halloween episode before Halloween?

Really? Did Major League baseball go on strike again?

Maybe the Halloween episode will be on in September before the MLB playoffs. That's still before Halloween

I'm reminded of a scene featuring Kodos and Kang from the Treehouse of Horror episode a couple years ago. The new season didn't start until the first week of November (which is obviously after Halloween). Kodos and Kang said something to the effect of "Foolish humans! They're doing a Halloween episode... IN NOVEMBER!"
