Homer, "Oh no, I hit the grief counselor."

Bart, at the bookstore. "I'm going to taunt the Ph.d's." Walks to the counter, "Hey guys, I heard an assistant professorship just opened up... at the University of Psyche!"

Homer, grabbing the Salesman Wanted sign, "That's it! I'll steal this sign and make them pay me to paint them a new one!"

Homer turning on the radio to cover the smell of his fart during the test drive.

    Homer, "I'll do it!"
    Salesman, "Do what?"

"Swim, swim, swim, thought the whale."

    Homer, "Ohh, 286 pages!"
    Marge, "It's double spaced."
    Homer, "Woo-hoo, I'm halfway done!"

Tom Clancy, "Would I say, 'If you're hunting for a good read this October, Marge Simpson's book is a clear and present danger to your free time?' Hell no, I wouldn't. What do you mean I just said it?"

Dr. Marvin Monroe's return from the dead.

Moe, "I'll have a medium pepperoni. And could you space out the meat so it spells 'Happy Birthday, Moe?' Oh God, I'm alone!"

Best... episode... in a long time.

"Ah that wonderful period of time between a lie and the time its found out". [IMG]

Inside Lisa's brain: "Your(libido in a cage) not getting out until were sixteen"

    Awesome episode.

Between the Simpsons and Arrested Development I think I laughed out loud (by myself) atleast 20 times.

I was really impressed with this episode as opposed to the horrible episode from two weeks ago.

LISA: What if Dad reads the book!

    BART: He won't read it.

LISA: Well what if they make it into a movie, and he sees it?

    BART: He won't see it.

LISA: Well what if they parody the movie on Mad TV?

BART: (eyes go wide) WE'RE DOOMED!!

And of course the discovery that Dr. Marvin Monroe is alive and well is shocking.

Truth be told about Dr. Marvin Monroe - I don't think there was an episode that really showed him die (unlike Bleeding Gums or Maude Flanders). There was that Memorial bldg to him, plus the statement he died in the 137th anniversary show as a trivial note.

    Otherwise, yes a good one!

For anyone who doesn't know, the "Memorial Hospital" reference is in one of the "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" episodes. (I didn't notice it the first time I saw that episode.)

I thought Marge painted that sailboat painting for Homer.
This episode implied that it was painted by someone else.

Well, as many others have pointed out, the Simpsons is not really known for continuity.

Thomas Pynchon as a guest-star just made me laugh out loud. Sure, celebrity guest stars are in general lame (thankfully, there seem to be fewer this season), but the very idea of Pynchon doing a guest voice and making himself look like a goof just seemed wonderfully absurd on a meta level.

Tom Clancy's book endorsement was priceless too. I am always amazed how they get people to poke fun at themselves.

I forgot to mention when Marge exclaims, "Please Homie, don't hurt him!" as Homer and Ned meet at the cliff. Can't be positive, but isn't this a pun of the MC Hammer album "Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em"?

That radio/fart skit felt more like a Family guy joke than a Simpson's joke
