    "the Fashion of the Christ"

this had the best opening of the show ever i think.

if anyone taped it you might be able to tell exactly what part of the US they live in.

that was indeed the best couch ever.

and the episode itself was above average, too.

"The Wild Dingleberrys" is classic Simpsons.

Holy Couch Gag! Is that what was giving away where the Simpsons live?

Guess tonight's episode was running a little bit short.

I wonder how they Nailed the "Fashion of the Christ" Gag as this episode must have been completed months ago. Did they just fix that digitally?

I was happy with tonights episode although I missed the opening unfortunately, but John Lovitz is so awesome IMO, although this wasn't his best appearance.

I thought it was funny when Artie Ziff walked into Moe's and sitting at the bar were all the characters that Lovitz did the voices for.

The movie theater scene had a couple of funny movie posters. The fashion of the Christ, of course, but I also noticed "You're in the Matrix, Charlie Brown!" and "A Matrix Christmas" or something like that.

    Great episode [IMG]

I hope everyone caught how Artie Ziff's company logo looked like the Enron logo. [IMG]My recording cut off the beginning, but didn't the "Behind the Laughter" episode reveal that they are from Northern Kentucky?

p.s. "Freddy vs. Jason vs. the Board of Education" (or something like that)

They must have, since the movie in theater 2 on the right hand marquee has a different movie title.

For those of us who missed the show, can you describe the couch gag and how it "gave away" where they live?

It starts by the Simpsons gathering on the couch as usual but then the camera pulls out of the house to a bird's-eye view of the roof. The "2001" theme starts playing and the camera starts pulling out from the roof, eventually revealing the entire United States (from that you get an idea of the geographical location of the Simpson Home) The camera pulls back more to reveal the entire earth, then the entire solar system, past the solar system (where we can see Kodos and Kang tending to their broken down spaceship, their theme plays when we see them) Camera keeps pulling back so the entire galaxy is revealed, the more galaxies around it. Camera keeps pulling back to reveal this all as a part of a single atom. The atom becomes molecules, the molecules form DNA. The camera pulls back to reveal it being part of skin cells. Camera pulls back more to reveal the skin cells as part of Homers head. Camera cuts to the Simpson's on the couch.

    HOMER: Woooowwwwww!
