Hey I was wondering if anyone knows who owns the rights to this classic wilder/pryor comedy. Last I knew it was 20th century Fox. If you guys still own it, can you please release it on DVD, with some kind of substantial extras.

    thanks.

I really thought this movie would be on DVD by 2004. I know Fox has plenty of catalog titles to release yet, however I'm genuinely surprised this title is is still unreleased.

Trivia: Silver Streak, Alien, and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid were among the very first FOX VHS movies ever released when FOX first began pre-recorded movies.

If they just release it in their budget line with a new anamorphic transfer and the original soundtrack, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

Why is this movie so completely disregarded? In R2 you can't even buy a VHS copy, let alone the LD or a DVD. I'm currently watching a pan&scam transmission on Channel Five which I'd have recorded if I'd known I couldn't get any kind of copy.

This is the best of the Gene Wilder Richard Pryor collaborations, and I'd be happy to see even a barebones edition as long as it was in 1.85:1 anamorphic.

    RANT:

I'm told that the Studios should not or don't want to release too many catalog titles at a time, that it must be spread out. What is the plan for "Silver Streak", 2 years in the future, 5 years in the future, 10 years in the future, 20 years in the future, or 50 years in the future? Someone please tell me.

Silver Streak is a terrific flick. It deserves extras but I'd buy a basic DVD edition of this immediately whenever the studio deems it time.

I suppose I can live without extras as long as the film itself is given the proper treatment. Great news!

That ending with the train crashing into the station still boggles me to this day!

DVD File says 12/7, but either way-WOOHOO!

One of the very few catalog titles left that I REALLY want. Thanks Fox!

Are you guys aware that many online stores are showing this as a friggin' Full Frame release? To wit: Video Universe, BestPrices, Buy.com. Most or all of the rest don't give an AR. I'm scared...this is near the top of my most-wanted.

Any of you have a contact at Fox where you can get the straight scoop?

Well if it's not coming OAR (and I sure as hell pray it does), then it might as well not come at all. [IMG]
