I just got my mits 65611 and love it...

my question is now that I do not have a vcr hooked up to my ht. system how can I get my cable tv to come through my main speakers and not just my tv speakers...

I have a nakamichi av-10 receiver. DO I just run the cable coax into my receiver? Isn't there something else I need to do?? Right now it is plugged directly into the television.

Secondly, will I lose any picture quality if I go into the receiver???

Thank you and please excuse my ignorance..

    regards,
    harvey

If your tv has an audio out, hook that to the receiver.

Looking at the specs of your TV, you have both analog and digital audio outputs. There should be a menu option to toggle the analog audio between fixed and variable (at least I've seen it on my 55411). I don't know about the digital out. It may only work when viewing an HD program or it may work for both HD and SD programs.
Your receiver does not have a TV tuner built in. Connecting your cable to it will do nothing.

think of it this way harvey.
you need to get the sound from the tv to the receiver right? so, you need to send the sound out from the tv into the receiver.
you do this using the audio out (red & white plugs) from the tv to the receiver's audio in.
tv audio out --> receiver audio in
you can choose whatever input on the receiver you'd like (video1, video2, etc.)
the difference between fixed and variable output (on the tv) is that the variable option will allow you to control the volume via the tv's remove. fixed will force you to use the receiver's volume control.
