Not only is it in full screen, a 2:35 x 1 aspect ratio, the transfer is just awful. I just threw $10.47 plus shipping away. I was really looking forward to this movie and took a chance. I figured what do I have to loose. Well I found out the hard way.

Artisan has really poor judgement. The movie starts out in letterbox to allow the opening credits to fit on the screen anbd as soon as the credit as finished the transfer switched to full screen. Forget about this one its not even worth a rental.

Do you mean THE SICILIAN? Or THE SILICONE? Or just SILICAN?

Sorry about the spelling, The Sicilian with Chrtistopher Lambert directed by Michael Cimino.

Just wanted to bump this so people see and are aware of this travesty.
Artisan just completely sucks. My wife loves this film (well, she loves Lambert and wants to eat him alive [IMG] ) and she was hounding me about this DVD. Not now.
Thank God that, well, read my signature...

Anytime a film receives this treatment it is tragic....personally I thought the film was moronic (as is practically every post-Deer Hunter Cimino film IMO) but nonetheless OAR should always be respected for every film.

Pardon my ignorance, but was this even a cinematic release? For some reason I thought it was just a made-for-tv movie.

No, it was a very big budget film. The distributor raped it prior to release, removing so much footage that it no longer made any sense. The uncut version is a much better film, though still flawed by Cimino's direction and Lambert's performance (which can be blamed on Cimino, since he refused to let Lambert play the role with gusto or a sense of fun).
