My parents refuse to put speakers all over their room

Room is gigantic. Over 20 feet square and they sit as far from the tv as possible.

I'd like to do something for them in this room.

Surely after several years of bashing sound bars on this forum and elsewhere the technology has improved.

Can anyone suggest a sound bar that would fit the bill?

Although big, the ceilings are only 8' high or so in this room.

Also, are there any that don't need an amp to power them?

Yep a powered soundbar.

Budget?

Cause Yamaha has a few that check in north of $1000...

Others are as cheap as $50.

LOL You're not doing something for your parents. You're doing something for yourself. You just want to experience better sound when you're there watching some sporting event with your dad. Leave them be, not everyone is unhappy with the sound from the TV speakers.


You're a good son anyway.
