    Link is dead...

Second, I believe that the current forecast is sometime in the Spring of next year...

Correct on both counts, Win. (I sure had to kill a lot of pop-up ads.)

No one truly believes a return-to-flight scenario for 2003 is realistic. Though NASA is anticipating the needed External Tank and other modifications that will be specified in the Columbia Accident Investigation Board's final report next month, the agency will be hard pressed to act on all the suggested changes this year.

For the latest, most accurate, and independent news about NASA activity, please check out Keith Cowing's excellent NASAwatch site. It's a morning routine for me.

Take it from someone working on the return to flight issues: no way in hell will it fly this year. Best guess from the trenches is March - May 2004.

What Andy said. I'm slightly more optimistic, but not by much. [IMG]

And FYI, December 18th was temporarily picked for a reason that has nothing to do with Return to Flight.

Andrew and Ray, where the hell ya guys been? At least two decent space-related threads have transpired since you two last surfaced. Best of luck, though. We're rootin' for you. JB

Whoops! Guess I just missed them. I'll try to pay better attention in the future!
