Here are a couple of good ones that I have taken with my Olympus C730UZ (soon to be replaced by either a Nikon D70, Digital Rebel, or 10D).

Shot of heavy surf (for us midwest folks) at Pensacola Beach during early April.

Another Florida picture (somewhere between Panama City and Pensacola)

Picture of my son intently watching something on tv.

Ok, I guess I'll give this a try :D though I'm not big on rating photos (whether my own or others') because it's a very subjective thing -- and I might even feel differently from time to time. But here are some I like from my collection (and have received a few praises for most before):

Shot w/ my retired Canon G3 w/ sepia toning:

These also w/ my G3, but not toned though there might be some amount of post work involved:

Again, w/ G3, but yes, it's a 2-shot composite:

I like this B&W w/ my G3 just for fun (and have it in my profile although I don't see it showing up as an embedded image):

Here's another more serious G3 shot in B&W (w/ diffuse glow added):

Another G3 shot w/ diffuse glow added:

One w/ zoom blur applied and the accompanying one w/out:

Here are some from my 2-month-old Nikon D70 -- and yes, many have some amount of post work involved:

I don't normally let him watch much tv but it was the only way to get him to stay in one spot and awake for any length of time.

I haven't had my Nikon D70 long, so I don't have too many pics yet, but here is one I converted to B&W in Photoshop CS that I kinda like:

Man-Fai, gorgeous photography. Just excellent. I especially like your Ground Zero gallery.

Also, Rob, that is just one excellent shot.

Ryan, there are websites which will host your pics for you, shuch as www.photobucket.com (where I have mine) and www.pbase.com (I beleive you have to pay).

I know I started a new thread for the following, but I forgot about this one. So please just ignore the other one...

Went for a bike ride today, and brought my camera along with me. Decided to stop at a small lake, and take some pictures. Here's the best from the bunch.

I'm hoping some of you guys can size down and compress your images a bit. Having large images to look at is nice, but many of these are up to 5MP, and 1.5 MB. Pretty sure I'm not the only one on dial up here and that makes for some seriously long waiting.

Rob, very nice shot. I'm surprised a digital got that quality of gradation, particularly in B&W. Fine composition.

Man-Fai, that is some wonderful work. I don't give compliments on photography easily and trust me, I know what I am talking about. You are a shining example of something I used to say over and over when I taught photography, which is to look at things from unusual points of view. High, low, look up, look down and so on.

This one looks almost like infrared in how "grain" was produced and due to the glowing of the highlights. Very nice. Was that really shot digitally?

The print looks good too, good gradations. Of course, some of the highlights are blown, but with this type of shot that is to be expected, and I am sure that they would have been blown with film as well.

BTW, I too am imressed with Man-Fai's work.

John- I would love to see some of your images!

Well Rob, most of the stuff I put much time into is shot on film and this thread really seems to be aimed at digital. I do have a couple shots I uploaded for you HTF subhumans I did for SVS. Nothing mind boggling, other than the subs themselves, that is.

John, digital has come a long way. :) The articles from the Luminous Landscapes website illustrate that. I was really impressed when the author of one of the essays compared a 6MP digital SLR to a medium format photo scanned by a high-end drum scanner ($20,000+). Digital has the dynamic range of slide film at the very least - but it's still too easy to blow highlights on digital though.

And I agree, Man-fai's work is just great! Man-fai, I think I remember some of your shots on dpreview.com too. :emoji_thumbsup:

Oh, I like the baseball shot Mike. :)
