Cliff, are Shout film titles taking a break over Christmas and New Year (no titles being released in December for example)?

Glad that Bad Dreams and Visiting Hours will be on separate discs.

yeah, it was sort of pushing the maximum of a dual layered disc even before the extras made it impossible to do.
yes, December is always a light month since the studios bring out all their big guns over November and December.

Ah, see when I saw the list of extras for Bad Dreams and Visiting Hours (especially Bad Dreams) and looking at the total running times for both films in the HTF DVD announcement thread for this double feature release, I thought it would be a bit tight for one disc.

Thanks Cliff for clearing that up about Shout film releases over Christmas and New Year.

Would love to see a S!F double-feature of SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS and K. Gordon Murray's SANTA CLAUS remastered in HD... :D Or something wacky like that for Xmas, anyways.

Thank you for the reply Cliff.

We've looked at a lot of those shows over the years. Many of them have music issues. Too expensive to clear relative to how many we figure we can sell.... and just as expensive to replace the music.
TV on DVD sales are declining, so it makes acquiring a lot of shows impossible because of the music and licensing fees.
The studios keep digital rights and we are left with just physical rights... and unless it's a big show... or a show with little music.. it's hard to recoup your investment in the show.
Shows like ADAM-12 and KOJAK have very little music, so as long as there are still people buying them, we can afford to release them.

Cliff, has Shout looked into these two popularly stalled series?
Early Edition was put off the schedule due to the slowdown of the economy. http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/articles/holdup.cfm#BrooklynBridge CBS released and secured the music for the first two seasons, and I know this doesn't exactly fit in the "little music" category your company would be looking at to license, but it remains a huge cult following with Kyle Chandler. Also, the original Rod Serling broadcasted ending to the second-season episode "Hot Time in the Old Town" was not included (however, it has been showing for the first time since on SyFy - I would love to see this added as a bonus). Would you be interested in picking up and continuing where CBS/Paramount left off? I hope your relationship extends beyond just Webster and Nickelodeon (Viacom).
Quincy, M.E. saw Seasons 1 & 2 on double-sided discs (which were problematic for many) and contained music replacement in 2005. Season 3 was released in 2009 on single sided discs and no music changes. What's the likelihood of this Universal property?
Sorry for the inconvenience earlier.

Corey, thanks for posting the front cover artwork for Lethal Ladies Collection: Volume 2 and updating the releases schedule. There's also the double feature of Bad Dreams and Visiting Hours out on 13th September.

Hmm, LETHAL LADIES 2 comes out on my birthday. Not adding any of those dates to the opening post of THIS thread, but WILL add them to the eventual 2012 Shout thread, though. Don't wanna start a 2012 trhead until Cliff comes out with some kind of "definite" list and schedule.

Sky Riders (1976) sounds good and has a pretty good cast.

Recently purchased Shout's double feature DVD release of Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry and Ride with the Devil. A trailer for Sky Riders is included among the extras.

Sky Riders is a very entertaining film, a real crowd pleaser back in '76..James Coburn and Robert culp!...beautifully shot also, with that incredible Greek orthodox monastery in the Macedonian (?) mountains...is that the same site as shown in Boy on a Dolphin?...I've got to go there someday...

It does have an absurdly implausible premise: that a troupe of performing hang gliders could be persuaded to carry out an armed commando raid. If you can swallow that, the movie is very well done, with solid performances, breathtaking Greek locations, and impressive second-unit aerial photography.

And the fact there was I believe a fatal accident involving one of the hang gliding stunts, which shows how back in the dayss tunts were really dangerous to do (today they would have CGI'ed it)

Shows you how risky stunts were in those days and how much these days CGI is used to create a similar kind of stunt. In those days they looked more authentic.
