LOS ANGELES, CA - For 25 years, the immortal actress and comedienne Lucille Ball reigned as the "First Lady of Television," starring in four different situation comedy series and becoming the foremost woman to run a major production studio.* On August 17th, Shout! Factory will debut the best episodes from Ball's third series, "Here's Lucy," as a very special four-disc DVD set.* Airing on CBS from 1968 to 1974, "Here's Lucy" starred America's favorite red-head as a widow raising two teenagers and working as a secretary for her stodgy brother-in-law, played by the inimitable Gale Gordon ("Dennis The Menace," The 'burbs).* In true nepotistic fashion, Ball's own children (with Desi Arnaz), Lucie and Desi, Jr., played Lucy Carter's fictional teens in the show.* Ball also attracted a wealth of A-list guest stars for "Here's Lucy" such as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Carol Burnett, Johnny Carson, Jack Benny, Jackie Gleason and others.* The four discs in the Here's Lucy DVD set not only contain 24 of the most memorable episodes, but hours of bonus audio commentaries, bloopers, deleted scenes and other never-before-seen footage.* Here's Lucy: Best Loved Episodes From The Hit Television Series will be available for the suggested retail price of $34.98.

The DVD's executive producers, Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr., lovingly sifted through the 144 filmed episodes of "Here's Lucy" and chose their personal favorites for the four disc set, including episodes with guest stars Taylor and Burton, Burnett, Benny, Gleason, Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon, Helen Hayes, Shelley Winters, Lawrence Welk, Vivian Vance, Charles Nelson Reilly, Ginger Rogers, Wayne Newton, Sammy Davis, Jr., Donny Osmond, Milton Berle, Ann-Margret, Flip Wilson and George Burns.* In addition, Shout! Factory and DVD producer Paul Brownstein included 14 new audio commentaries by Lucie and Desi, Jr., Carol Burnett and Wayne Newton, never-before-seen bloopers and deleted scenes, rehearsal and other behind-the-scenes footage, audience warm-up footage with Ball's second husband Gary Morton and original network promos.* Bonus material also includes a clip from the "Ann-Margret: From Hollywood With Love" television special featuring Ball, the original series sales reel with Bob Hope bloopers, and never-before-seen footage from an event during which Lucie and Desi, Jr. perform as their parents in an "I Love Lucy" skit.

Lucy Carter, a widow raising two teenage children (Kim and Craig), lives in Los Angeles and works as a secretary at the Carter Unique Employment Agency, owned by her grouchy brother-in-law Harrison "Uncle Harry" Carter.* Lucy's overzealous manner, both as a meddling mother and at the employment agency, often causes her to stumble into embarrassing slapstick situations, much to the chagrin of her kids, Harry and best pal Mary Jane.
