Today, Shout at the Devil. Beginning his career as an associate film editor under Alexander Korda, Peter R. Hunt – after several years working in that capacity and a stint in the British Army during World War II – graduated to full time film editor starting with The Man Who Watched Trains Go By (1952). After a few more years working as an editor, including for the first 5 James Bond movies, he graduated to the director’s chair with On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969), though another five years would pass before his next directorial effort, Gold (1974). Reuniting with that film’s star Roger Moore, Hunt would tackle his most ambitious effort to date, an adaptation of Wilbur Smith’s novel Shout at the Devil. Previously released on Blu-ray by Timeless Media Group – a Shout Studios division – Kino has licensed the movie from MGM (the current rights holder) for its return to Blu-ray.

Thank you for your review.
This is a grand-scale adventure that I enjoy watching. The three leads play well together.
I am waiting for my copy to arrive.

re: the footage trimmed during post-production:

"director Hunt, who once told this writer /Lee Pfeiffer/ that the film was originally shot as an even longer roadshow presentation and that he had the only remaining uncut print of it in his garage (!) (One can only wonder what became of it after Hunt's death in 2002)."
