    Hi all,

I have a question about speaker wire. I plan on wiring one of my upstairs bedrooms for surround speakers. I’d like to run the wire through attic and under the insulation. I was wondering if I should consider RL rated wire for that application or would I be fine by going with CL rated wire instead?

Your advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

    Sergey,

I dont know what RL is, but CL rated is the in-wall wire to meet fire/electrical Code. Here is a PDF from Cruthfield explaining several types CLICK(Look for a type EXPAND button on top)

    Bill,

Just downloaded the PDF. That's an excellent HT resource. Thanks for pointing that out.
