I have the original DVD's of each. I know that the transfers of Platoon and MFL are the same as the originals but according to Robert Harris some "electronic enhancement" has been removed. So I'm wondering if any of these are worth upgrading solely for significant improvement in video or audio quality due to less compression or anything else.

Are you talking about the Image Platoon DVD?

    If so theres a tradeoff.

The new version while being a MUCH better transfer doesnt have the color correction that was on the Pioneer LD and Image DVD (which I really liked [IMG] )

Rain Man is going to be very inexpensive ($12.99-$14.99). Might as well jump. Also, there is going to be a crapload of special features on MFL. If you're into that stuff, I highly recommend it. You can seldom go wrong any time you purchase a Warner 2-Disc SE.

I say you really can't go wrong rebuying all three if that's your inclination. I usually get rebuys when I open a new account at Columbia House so that I'm only buying them at around $8 a piece.

I have the first MGM Platoon DVD, not the image so I'm interested in comparing to the MGM Special Edition. I like bonus features but I usually only rebuy for improvement of quality in the movie. So if anyone could tell me if any of these are a significant improvement.

I believe the 2 MGM transfers are the same.

The difference is in the special features.

I usually wouldnt upgrade for special features but the Platoon documentary on the SE is really excellent and worth it IMHO.

Image never released Platoon on DVD, LIVE Home Video (now Artisan) released it.

I prefer the MGM transfer but some will disagree.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm leaning towards upgrading only My Fair Lady.

    Mr. Harris,
Is that for the supplements, or the transfer?
    Thank you.
