Should I get 4K or blu ray Watchmen (1 Viewer)

First let me say I don’t own a 4K player. I would like to get this movie but can’t decide if I should get the 4K with blu ray or the 2009 directors cut blu ray. Which would you recommend ?

Probably the Blu-ray of the Director’s cut. The 4K version is only the “ultimate cut” which has the director’s cut edited together with an animated film based on a comic that a minor character in the story reads. It’s interesting if you’re a fan of the original comic book series or if you’ve already seen the film, but I don’t think it’s a great way to see it for the first time. It also brings the running time close to four hours.

Is the blu ray that comes with the 4K the same master as the 2009?

I have no idea on that one - don’t actually own the 4K disc.
