Anytime I put these modes on, I only get sound from the front 2 speakers, is this normal? I thought the manual is not clear on that.

I would think it should use 4 or 5 speakers as these modes are designed to mimic the effect of being in different music halls.[IMG]

I don't know if or what I am doing something wrong but when I put the 4ES in the Concert modes, I only get sound from the front 2 speakers.

What about your other modes, such as hall or jazz?

Brett, the other modes seem to work just fine. Is there a setting for Concert Hall A/B DSP modes?

I have the 4ES and all four surround speakers play sound in those digital A & B modes. It's mostly reverb effects that are not as loud as the mains. The side surrounds have more and slighltly different effects than the rear surrounds. If you are looking for more sound out of the surrounds you might try pro-logic II Music.

Many of Sony's Music Modes only play out of 2 speakers. If you want DSP effects from all speakers, you need to try some of the Movie modes.

DSP modes, in general, are not specific for one exact type of programming. My best advice is to experiment and see if you find something you like.

I agree that Pro Logic II Music modes is one of the better ones to try.

Get it checked out. I know it is only a small glitch now but get it fixed.
