I know they say to cut speaker wire for pairs of speakers the same length. My question is should the center speaker wire be the same length as the front speaker wires? My fronts are 14' each and my center only needs to be 5'. Should I put them all the same or put the center at 5'?

Nope, it won't make a difference at all. So just use however much wire you need.

It is extremely unlikely that you'll hear any difference.

But, since I am anal about things like this, mine front three are all cut to exactly 9 feet.

And you can also bet that each of my mains is exactly the same distance from the TV and toed in exactly the same degree.

Yeah, but since the electrical signal travels really, really fast, compared to the sound signal, you're gonna have to move your head as fast as you can the distance of 0.0000000003827mm to compensate...

And you have to move your head in 9E-9 sec. Thats really really fast for a skinny head like me. :D

The most relevant concern I would have with speaker cable lengths is whether or not my configuration may change in the future so that I may need longer cable for one or more of the runs, the amount of inconvenience there may be in changing cable that may not be long enough when reconfiguring, and whether or not I'd be willing to purchase new cable (and possibly sell the old cable) if I don't allow for such contingencies.
