Should 720p/1080i affect picture color?

    for some reason, the pic on 480p and i looks fine, but when i set it to 720p or 1080i using the samsung's dvd player's upconversion the picture gets a wierd tint and i have to set the TVs color temp to Cool1 to make it look right. i just had the board replaced in the tv and the trouble was much worse before, but i can still see a color shift!

    I'm surprised no posts on this yet....

    A lot can depend on your particular HDTV. I really have no experience with DVI yet. But I can say in the good ol world of analog connections, HDTV's are calibrated according to source / input. So this would not be that out of the ordinary.
