I have decided to upgrade my receiver in the next couple of weeks. I currently have Jamo 7.x speakers in a 5.1 configuration, but want to move to a 7.1 config with the new receiver. I have been looking at the following possibilities, in no particular order:

    Harman Kardon ARV630
    Yamaha RX-V2400
    Denon AVR-3805
    Pioneer Elite VSX-53TX

I would appreciate any advice, or other reccomendations.
    Thanks!

    DavidWi:

I have the Yamaha 2400 and it just blew my senses, it has lots of features you can use to accomodate to your tastes, like the equalizers it offers: Parametric and Graphic. The Parametric is more accurate and it's set automatically thru its auto calibration feature. The GPQ is a manual equalizer that you can use instead to your particular taste. (for movies I find the PEG to be "right on the money" and the GPQ for two channel stereo music). That's what set this receiver apart from the competition for me: the flexibility it gave me to tweek it to my personal requirements. The Pioneer has a similar feature but the Yamaha really sold me! I'm very happy with it.
