Well I just got a PE 250 watt amp. I just got a new Shiva for $100 and I found someone that will sell me a new Tempest for $125.

I LOVE bass and either way I go I am going to build a box for this setup in a few weeks.

Given the same amp, will it really be worthwile to get a Tempest (assuming I'll need a larger box than compared with a Shiva)?

    Any opinions are helpful.

I would stick with the Shiva for awhile. I have an EBS alignment Shiva w/ the PE amp and love it! I can't imagine needing a better sounding sub. Watching the lift off scene from Apollo 13 DTS at reference was amazing! Afterwords i started noticing tiny pieces of what seemed to be white styrofoam... turns out it was the texture from the ceiling of my apartment! It's hard to argue w/ an in room response of -1db @ 15hz!

I know that even though I say this, the Tempest will be every bit as good as the Shiva and a little better. If you hadn't already purchased the Shiva I would tell you for $25 more go w/ the Tempest, but since you already have the Shiva, go with it and I'm sure you'll be happy!

    Hope this helps [IMG]

If you have the space for the larger box the Tempest is definitelly worth the extra.

I would agree with Jeff IF he didn't already have the Shiva, which he does. Since he already has the Shiva, then I don't think the hassle of selling it to buy the tempest would be worth it.

It's worth it if you can break even with the shiva. Don't get me wrong... the shiva is awesome but the tempest is even that much better. It's worth the extra effort to get that tempest if you can break even on the shiva first.

    Ok,

I decided to buy AdamN's tempest. I am going to build a box and my step dad said he'd buy my Shiva. So things should work out.
