SHIRI: review of region 1 DVD and comparison to region 0 (1 Viewer)

I have the HK DVD of Joint Security Area (JSA) and it IS a great film, one of the best I've seen this year. According to the cover, it has no region code, and it's cheap (got mine from www.dddhouse.com). The picture is non-anamorphic, but the film looks and sounds great. One of the best Hong Kong DVDs I've ever seen.
My DVD also came with a cardboard box around the amaray case, some postcards and a booklet.
SHIRI and JSA would make a nice double feature.

I only have access to the Region 1 disc, but that version is very solid. Great picture and audio. As for extras, the Region 0 looks to be a lock. Nothing really "wrong" with the extras for Region 1, but they seem almost non-existant when compared to the Region 0 release.

Bruce, you should know that most of the Region 0 extras are in Korean with no English subtitles.

Thanks for pointing that out, Richard. I, um...missed that little "detail" . But, if you speak Korean, then the Region 0 extras are far and away superior to Region 1
