I have an opportunity to purchase a Sherwood tuner model TX5090. Does anyone have experience with this model and with Sherwood equipment in general? How does it go for reliability?

Also, any other suggestions for a medium priced tuner?

For what it's worth, I bought my first receiver (a Sherwood) in 1973 and it is STILL working, with never a repair needed (in fact, the lightbulb in the signal strength meter is still working). I DO need to clean the volumn control pot (potentiometer for you young kids....look it up in your electronics dictionary) though.

I've owned two Sherwood recivers (still have one hooked up in bedroom). I've never had any problem whatever with either one. I've always liked Sherwood as they have much better features than other receivers at a comparable price point. I'm currently eyeing their top of the line Newcastle.
