Given that a dual-layer DVD can hold the game more than twice over, I was wondering if anyone had seen in ANY review of the game whether or not the J track is optional. I saw something over at "Fatbabies", but I'm told they are the AICN of game rumors.

I know all the demos have been run dubbed, but one would hope that one of them would ask. Playing the UK DC version in J was a far superior experience. Much better acting and immersion. Since the sub files already exist and are timed and ready to go, I see no reason why they can't include it

Calls to Sega lead to big duhs

Bingo [IMG] The Dreamcast version was on 4 GD-ROMs, and I'm guessing the 4th disc isn't full (but man, what scenary!) Even with uprezzed textures there should be plenty of room for the J track

Interesting piece of news: Microsoft will be bundling the full "ShenMue The Movie" DVD with ShenMue2 in the US to give players a 'recap' of the first game.

    PROTIP:

Yu Suzuki came to the Bay Area for a special Shenmue signing. My Dreamcast copy is autographed by the man himself, and i got to shake his hand.

Sure I remember Ine-san, are you getting at how bad the dub was?

They did pronounce the names correctly

a good sign, the Shenmue movie disc that comes with Shenmue 2 has both Japanese(with subs) and English tracks

Even the J release only had the English, maybe Suzuki-san really listened when we told him how much we hated the dubbing

Do we know if there is any chance of a Shenmue 3 for any platform?

I would really hate to see this wonderful series die with the Xbox release.

Well, even though I have the DC import, I'll get the Xbox version just so there would be a chance for a Part 3.

Don't want Shenmue to go the way of ICO....

I may have to get the DC release. Buzz from the bees is that there will be NO European X-Box release for Shenmue 2 which is depressing. It's mysteriously been dropped from the UK release schedule at the X-Box UK website.

Just makes me glad I have the DC import. I'll more than likely pick up the box version anyway just to support the series, I would really like to see a Shenmue 3.

Was it really Microsoft's choice or was it Sega's? After all Sega saw fit to only give us the dub on the first game.
