Lately, on my Windows 10 loaded PC Laptop, I had been noticing "Shell Infrastructure Host" consistently running from 30% to over 50% CPU usage!
This afternoon, finally fed up, I googled for a solution and discovered this is not a new problem, with entries dating back at least 3 years! What I did find is that the Photos Microsoft app is a common culprit. The suggested solution to change what opens jpg files from Photos to Paint (I did the same for png files, as I also use that format quite a bit!) seems to have done the trick in my case, as Shell Infrastructure Host is now mostly at 0%!
Where I found my solution:
Hope this solution helps others in a similar bind!
CHEERS!
