Sharpness control on Panasonic PT AE100 (1 Viewer)

I'm running a Denon 2800 MK2 through a Panasonic PT AE100 Projector with a 525p Progressive signal, all the picture controls are tweakable up and down except sharpness, it starts at "0" and won't go any lower, is there anyway round this ?
My player has the sharpness turned right down but I still have double outlines around objects.

Are you sure that you are not just seeing edge-enhancement inherent in the source? If not, try and minimize the outlining as much as possible with your sharpness controls (use a sharpness test pattern) and be happy.

Even using the Avia test pattern I can't get it right with player and Projector set as low as possible.
The only film that it isn't obvious on is Ep 2 AOTC
