I recently went to a store and demoed the sharp xv-z10000 and the picture looked alright, the price is $3,500. I want to have a good projector for my basement but I want to keep the budget reasonable. Is there anything new that might bump prices down or do you have any other suggestions. I am also open to the idea of other projectors, my price range for the projector is between $3,000 and 5,000. I was wondering if anyone here has had experience with this projector or what they think. Also, does a stewart screen make that much of a differance for the price?

Thanks very much you guys are extremely informative

    hi

this is an older model. I think it is the HD2 chip, which is pretty decent. It also has excellent glass in it.

I would suggest watching in a black room (totally light controlled) and getting a screen with a slight gray surface. Stewart screens are nice, but you will be paying a premium.

    Regards
