I'm getting ready to purchase a projector for my newly finished home theater. I'm being steered toward a SharpVision XV-Z9000U. Any thoughts on this product? Pro's or Con's. It has a MSRP of $11,000.00 but I've found it online for $4800.00.

Thanks,
Mark

Is that brand new for $4800. I found the Sharp 9K to be a very good HD1 DLP projector. Not sure about the pricing of the latest HD2 and HD2+ DLP's in that area but I would assume around $7K. Can you do a demo with a disk of your choice? It would be nice if you could actually sit and watch the entire movie seeming as you are serious to buy.

the sharp 9000 is 720 resolution, isnt the infocus 5700 edtv?

you can get the sharp 10000, similar to the 9000, but with the hd2 chip and supposedly better blacks, for under $6k if you look hard enough...

Thanks to all of you for the reply's. I spoke with a home theater consultant yesterday that did mention the SharpVision 10000 as a better product. I haven't had a chance to look into pricing. As for the Infocus, I'll start researching it today.

Thanks again,
Mark
