Sharp 32" LCD question (1 Viewer)

Hello all:

I'm looking to buy this TV from Walmart, its a Sharp 32" LCD HDTV w/ Digital Tuner, LC32SB24U. When I try and source it through the Sharp website it doesn't even appear to exsist in their system. So I started looking around and found this model at Best Buy by Sharp as well LC32D44U and the specs are almost identical.

Are the LC32SB24U TV's made especially for Walmart? The price is the same on both TV's. I'm looking to buy one of these for my RV to replace the old 20" tube TV. Do any of you have any thoughts on these TV's? Some of the limited reviews I've seen give it a good grade.

Thanks to all in advance that reply.

Cheers

It's possible. Some large retailers will have a manufacturer build a set very slightly customized and with a different part number. It's mainly for advertising purposes, they run a sale and (kinda) truthfully say you can't find the same model anywhere else at their price.

Like other Sharp products .. the TV has potential for a nice image ... but you have to calibrate it to get there. Any test disc would do you fine. AVIA, AVIA II, DVE, Get Gray, Monster Cable/ISF ...

Thanks again for your replies guys, the reason I chose this TV is because of its smaller dimensions than others of its size. Unfortunately in my 5th wheel the cubby hole it has to fit in to won't accept anything larger. Even with the dimension specs given, for either of the TV's, part of the sides of the TV will be covered by the cubby hole it'll be sitting in but, not the screen itself. Really the opening is most likey made to accept a 26" TV but, this 32" will just fit.

I looked at CNets review and they only give it a 5.9 rating and refer to it as average even though I read most user reviews on various sites and they give it much higher praise.

Here in Canada we probably don't have the the same choices in TV's as you do in the US. Where would I find one of these calibration discs Michael TLV?

So hopefully this will be a good purchase for me, if not I got myself a huge PC monitor

Thanks again to all

Greetings

Amazon is your friend. Any store that sells DVDs should also have them or you can order them.

Try the THX optimode first ... it is "free" and is found on any THX branded DVD you have. Star Wars flicks are such an example.
