We are 3 episodes into Shameless Season 8 and I realized no series thread yet; the show continues to run with some great performances, but this season following the death of Monica, we're starting to see some real character growth going on here.

I wouldn't say hitting it out of the park, but this season has certainly been better than last. I've mentioned this before, but the show has become more of a parody of itself over the last few seasons. It used to be a real-life, raw dramedy. I do still enjoy it though, just not as much.
