I think what's most bothersome about this is that Lucas has been posturing for YEARS that he wants to advance the state of the art of film presentation. His THX company was supposed to push for, indeed guarantee (like the Good Housekeeping seal of approval) that we would be getting the Very Best in visual and audio quality.
TPM (like many other "THX approved" transfers) shows otherwise.
