    I found this at www.imdb.com.

    'Sex': Tamer But Funnier

Although "tamer" than the original, the syndicated version of HBO's Sex and the City, will contain footage shot specifically for a commercial audience that is "funnier" than the original material, according to the online Media Daily. Moreover, the trade report said, the show is being pitched to advertisers aiming at young-adult viewers the same way that off-networks shows like Seinfeld and Friends were, and at similar prices. TBS, which got first dibs on the series and is due to begin airing it in June, is offering it to advertisers for a price in excess of $100,000 per 30-second spot, Media Daily reported

They'll probably make it more like a traditional sitcom and remove the sexual and dramatic elements... [IMG]

Did they shoot this footage back then plannign on broadcast TV? That seems unlikely or it probably wouldn't have turned up on the DVDs. Shooting new material with the leads doesn't seem workable as they're noticably older than in the early seasons and Sarah Jessica Parker has a new nose.

What is really funny is the idea that the current writers/producers could make the show funnier, but are (apparently) refusing to do so,

I'd rather they just make it sexier.

Are they gonna call it "Funny and the City"?

Probably not "funnier", just more "sitcom-tastic!"

    At the writer's table:

"Bob, that joke is just TOO funny. Let's put that one aside & overdub it for the syndicated version."
