A friend loaned me a Queen concert DVD that had a nice setup routine for video and audio under the THX menu. Anyone know of a stand-alone DVD with test patterns, signals, etc.?

Two big ones are Video Essentials and Avia. I understand that they're both comparable in quality. I use Video Essentials and have been happy with it.

I think I read somewhere that one of the HT mags (Sound & Vision, maybe?)is going to be putting out their own version of a test disc sometime soon. Not 100% sure on that, though.

    Hope this helps!

Joe Kane, who did Video Essentials and is considered the quality video champion, is finishing up a revised edition which will be far cheaper than the first V.E. and very much improved according to rumors. It will be mastered from pro-grade 1080p High Definition digital material and supposedly include DTS calibration tracks this time too.
