I have a b&k ref 30 preamp and a svs 20-39cs sub wwould it be better to use the ref 30 pink noise or the ve disc to set the sub? the reason i ask is because i had it set up using the ref 30 but tried the video essentials disc just before and their was a differance between them with the ref 30 the sub level was at +4 and with the disc it dropped to --7. with the ref 30 the pink noise is already at a certain level when you begin. with the ve disc i set the volume to 0db to level with method would be more accurate.

Use the VE disc. Since your material will be going through the same signal path, this should provide the most accurate results.
