first question is how can I run a seperate sub for music? I was thinking of spliting the lf. is there any way you can run a sub off one of the main speakers? second question I have the hk avr225 if any one out there has this receiver can you answer this for me in the manual it says if you set the speakers to small everything under 100hz goes to the sub. my front speakers are bookshelf rated at 55hz center 60 hz wouldnt you want every thing under 60 hz to go to the sub and can that be done on this reciever? thanks for all your help

For the subs, using a Y-splitter is fine. You can also wire most subs in-line with the main speakers, so you have a choice here. If you wire the sub in-line with the mains, set the main speakers to LARGE and subwoofer to NONE on the receiver. You could specify small and turn the in-line sub off for movies, but why not just leave it running and use both subs? In this case, you'd leave your main speakers as large and set the subwoofer to 'sub'.
