After perusing various online resources, I haven't been able to find out how to access the Service Menu of my Sony KV-27S25, I was wondering if anybody has the instructions on how to reach the service menu, or could point me to a site that does have them.

    -Thanks, Scott

If that doesn't work try this:

    System Power off
    .
    .
    .
(Wait til red light goes off)
    then immediately hit

    display

    5

    Volume +

    Power On

thanks, I just tried that, but it didn't work, i hit display, let go, then hit 5 (as in channel 5), then hit volume + then hit power (which is an on/off single button design) all that happened was that it turned off, lemme go try it a couple more times.

Edit: tried it both ways (holding the buttons down, then in a sequence), still no good, let me turn the whole system off, then try it.

Yes, do what I said and start with the tv OFF. It will work. You just have to wait a second after you press the "System off" button and then hit the rest rather quickly and finish with the "On" button.

Ah, got it, does anybody know what the acronyms stand for here, some I can figure out, but there must be a table or something showing what they all refer too. (by the way, this TV has never been calibrated, neither ISF'ed nor with AVIA. I am going to write down all of the original values and then proceed to attempt to fix some convergence issues)

Be careful. I tried fixing some small issues with my 24" Wega and came up with almost no improvements. [IMG] Unfortunately it just seemed like I couldn't fix the problems.

yeah, I'm going to be brutally careful, like bomb squad careful. It's things that I know I can fix based upon my computer monitor convergences (keystone, vertical alignment, etc.). The only problem is deciphering the 4 letter acronyms they use to describe the setting.

One last thing I forgot to mention yesterday Scott. If at any time you feel you may have screwed something up just unplug the tv for a minute and you'll be totally reset. As long as you don't press the (mute + enter) it won't be saved. Also, if you turn off the tv I believe it saves as well. So, if you make a mistake just unplug.
