    A report surfaced that indicated the Denon 1602 and

    a couple other receivers will mute out when in Dolby Digital

    mode and trying to play the "Pearl Harbor" DVD and a couple

    other discs. I wish I had better specifics, but Denon is

    working on the problem. It also effects other receivers

    using a "Crystal Semiconductor" chip.

    Addendum to the "Crystal semi" problem.

    Disregard the post for the time being. It's possible

    this problem is related to "Cirrus" semiconductors

    used in home theater products.

    This has been covered in other threads I believe, nothing new. (Although it is not a good thing.)

    Also, I think that Cirrus bought Crystal, or the other way around. Same company (now).

    Note: The Cirrus chips in the Outlaw 950 do not have this flaw, because it was discovered before the final code was produced for the chips in this unit. I tested all DVDs involved and had absolutely no problems with them.
