Being the month of September, I though to myself how odd, maybe that's the wrong way to put it, how about why the month of September is often written and sang about in songs? I can think of Neil Diamond's "September Morn'", Earth Wind & Fire's "September", and Frank Sinatra's "The September Of My Years" and "September Song". I'm sure there are more September songs.

Is September the month most featured in songs? Seems that way to me.

    Interesting.

"See you in September" is another one.

Well there's the classic and somewhat sombre "September Song" penned by Kurt Weill...

It's been recorded by countless artists, and is a jazz standard with a really wonderful chord progression. Can't believe it hasn't been mentioned specifically by anyone prior to this.

    Regards,

I saw a new GAP(?) commercial this morning on TV and it features Earth Wind and Fire's song September. Great choice of music. [IMG]

Don't forget "September in the Rain"

Excellent instrumental version on the album "Approaching Standards" by Roy Hargrove and an excellent vocal version on Joe Williams "Swinging Night at Birdland"

September in the Rain, for sure. The version I remember (rhymes with September [IMG]) was by Dinah Washington.

The only version I have on CD now is by Jane Morgan.
