This was by far the best comic book movie in the past several years, I so cannot wait to fire this up in the HT.

I'm surprised and disappointed that there is no Bonus View PiP track on this release. Paramount did a nice job with the Transformers one and I expected one on this title as well.

I liked Iron Man more than TDK.

I had a really good time watching Iron Man. With the Dark Knight I had the same feeling that I had when I watched Platoon....drained.
I have no problem with TDK(impressive), but it certainly isn't a "fun" movie.
That being said, really looking forward to BD's of both

This is really going to shine now with the addition of my new 1080p front projector, I am very excited as this Blu disc should far exceed the quality of the theaters I saw it in.

I cannot agree. I thought Iron Man was far better.

Iron Man is my 3rd favorite comic book movie of all-time behind The Dark Knight and Spider-Man 2. Upon subsequent viewings it could very well pass SM2, but there's no way it will ever move ahead of TDK. Just a different class of film there. Can't wait to watch IM on Blu-Ray, the 30th can't come soon enough. :emoji_thumbsup:

I can't really classify TDK and "Iron Man" as ranking them compared to each other, as for me it's a very close tie. They're two different interpretations of two different franchises from two different sources. One is a new franchise that is laying ground work for the characters, the other is a sequel where the ground work had already been done, thus giving the characters room to breathe.

On the one hand, TDK is a psychological examination of 3 different characters that just happens to have a kick to the face or stuff blowing up every once a while. It succeeded wildly at both that and reflecting the obvious influence of the Frank Miller Batman comics.

On the other hand, "Iron Man", is a movie about a guy blowing stuff up that doesn't make a specific point on examining the character, but at least bothers to give the character a decent amount of introspection and set-up for the next film. I think it's closer to execution to "Batman Begins" (though not entirely, for obvious reasons) than TDK, and that was it's job. If the rumors we're hearing--that the sequel will dive into the "Demon in a Bottle" storyline--are true, then I would assume it will take on the darker and more character-driven tone that TDK did. Perhaps at that point we could make a more direct comparison.

One final major difference is that BB and TDK (and, IMO, "Superman Returns) are more or less self-contained, with almost no real attempt to connect the stories to other DC Comics properties (despite the best efforts of Warner to do so with "Wonder Woman", "Justice League", etc live-action films), whereas "Iron Man" seems almost made for tying into other Marvel films, as the post-credits sequence makes crystal-clear. It's not surprising that it and other Marvel Universe films have so many cameos from both actors and props popping up in the background.

Iron Man is a bit further down my list below films like TDK, Superman, Xmen2, Spiderman2, Batman Begins and Superman Returns.

Its a fun movie though, and Im looking foward to seeing it in HD.
