A sales person at Best Buy said I would need an additional HD tuner with the Hughes model E86 to get HD over the air reception even with a HD ready TV. I have a Hitachi 57SWX20B.
I thought the Hughes E86 would allow both Satellite and over the air HDTV reception.
I am only interested in Local channel HDTV at this time, but would like the option to get Direct TV or Dish Network at a later date.
    Any thoughts or recommendations?

    Thanks,
    Scott W

Not to worry Scott. This salesman is probably confusing the fact that the Hughes is sold as a DirectTV receiver, while BB sells a Samsung as an OTA receiver.

The Hughes has a 75ohm coax input for an external antenna and will decode both digital and analog signals received from the antenna.

I have one and it works fine.

One more thing Scott, the Hughes won’t work with Dish.

Thanks Lew.I'll return in the morning for the E86 without the help of the salesman.
He was a nice Kid, but needed a little training in HDTV.
