This holiday season I am going to by myself a new sub. I am able to get a great deal on paradigm equipment. So, I am torn between the seismic 10 and 12. I have read some positive reviews on the 12, but I have not read anything on the 10.

Does anyone have either sub? Which would you chose and why?

Although I get a great deal, I am unable to demo them.

My room size is 14 by 29 with 8 1/2 feet ceilings.

I am not interested in any other subs[IMG]

I think more info is needed to give you the best advice. What are your listening preferences? Your room is roughly 3400+ ft3. With that size room, I would definitely opt for the 12. The 12 has nearly a 50% displacement advantage and would probably keep you from getting a bad case of upgradeitis.

    I listen to R&B, PoP, Blues& Rap.

I usually watch 3 to 4 movies a week. I am going to add the 40s & 470 in the future.

    Hi Keiwana,

If you listen anywhere close to reference, go with the 12.

Go with the 12 . I owned this sub and it performs great and goes really low. It also plays mucic relly well.

No I never heard the 10. I'm sure the 12 will go lower than the 10. the 12 is plenty fast to give you the quick tight bass you will need for music. The 12 plays really low for those movies.

    Kevin,

I thought about the servo, but the size a problem, as it pertains to placement considering the furniture lay out in my room.

You might look at a Velodyne HGS-12X then. Also servo controlled for low distortion. Here's a review of the older HGS-12:

No distortion measurments, but Velodynes with servos are usually better than 5%, and actually typically in the 1-2% range.
