Here is a Sega chart showing all US sales figures.(Courtesy of IGN.

Some quick thoughts from me (as a diehard Sega fan). Rez sales are disappointing and gamers in the US should be ashamed of themselves for not giving this game a chance![IMG]. Considering it very "niche" status some would say those sales are "bad" but considering the quality of the game, I was really hoping for more.
I am however happy to see that Jet Set Radio Future enjoyed some level of success. Though not a "set the charts on fire" game, it garnered some decent numbers in the US. I was also suprised to see Gunvalkyrie sold as many as it did (not to say 50,000 is phenominal but considering the nature of the game, allot more than I expected).
A good thumbs up for Monkey ball as well. Glad to see so many around bought this fun game.
Of course you have to mention the selling power of Sonic and Virtua Fighter 4. The little hedgehog still has it!
    Feel free to discuss...

Well, I hope that Sega continues to push the envelope when it comes to games, & that they do catch EA as the biggest 3rd party developer.

    Now that would be cool!

World Series Baseball for Xbox isn't on that list. I wonder how that did.

I played the demo for Rez and it was incredible. But I don't know if my fingers could make it through the entire game. [IMG] I'm sure I'll pick it up soon though, since BB has it for $20.

I'm just sorry to be one of the 50,000 suckers who bought
    Gun Valkerie.....
    ugh

In other news, I only wish I could buy Rez. I have yet to find it here in the Bay Area.

I think it's pretty interesting that NBA titles outsold the NFL titles by so much.

That to me seems odd, considering that football has essentially become the premier sport in America.

    Oh, well.

Why such poor performance of sports titles on the Gamecube I wonder? 7500 for NFL 2K3 versus ten times that amount for the PS2 and 8 times that amount for the Xbox? Were the Gamecube release dates pushed back or something? That strikes me as curious, especially considering the otherwise strong success of Sega on the GCN.

2,053,000 units sold is nothing to be ashamed about at all, especially for just 8 of the slowest months of the year for videogames. At $50USD a pop thats $102,650,000USD in sales. I'd say Sega's move over to become a 3rd part developer has been a success so far.

I'm blown away that JSRF is the #2 Xbox title - always thought it had the 'cult' following, so that's pretty cool.

No info on Crazy Taxi 3 for the Xbox?

So, it does indeed look like - despite critical success = Sega's NFL2K3 is getting it's *ss handed to them by Madden, huh?

I think the reason that the NBA series is the beating the NFL series in sales is that the NBA series is arguably the best basketball franchise out there, while it appears that MAdden is clearly king (though I can't help but think that 60k units for the Xbox of NFL2K3 is disappointing as Madden doesn't support Xbox Live. Maybe the sales of that title will pikc up when Live is released.)

The thing about Rez is that it's not the fault of gamers for not buying the game, it's Sega's fault for not advertising it AT ALL. I can't even remember seeing a magazine ad for it.
