Jodie Foster talks about a theory that, All things being equal the one that makes the most logical sense is the correct one. It was Achmans(?sp) Theory or something like that or Achmans root. I cant remember, anybody have a clue?

Hi Tom,

She was referring to Hackem's (sp?) razor. It is a scientific rationale that states:

"All things being equal, the simplest explanation is usually correct."

The basis for this rationale is nature very rarely makes things more complicated than necessary - it simply takes too much energy and is inefficient.

Notice, however, that its states "usually". I guess, we sometimes over-simplify complex problems - especially when we do not have all of the information.

It's Hokum's Razor, which says that all things being equal, the simplest solution to a problem is usually the right one.
